The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), Government of India, is gearing up for Special Campaign 6, to be conducted from 2nd October, 2026 to 31st October, 2026. The campaign will focus on institutionalizing Swachhata and further strengthening efforts towards disposal of pending matters, better record management, effective utilization of office space, e-waste management and overall cleanliness and beautification of office premises.

The Department of Food and Public Distribution has successfully completed Special Campaign 5.0, building upon the initiatives undertaken during Special Campaigns 1.0 to 4.0 held from 2021 to 2024. The campaign focused on improving Swachhata and disposal of pending references with special emphasis on cleanliness, space management, record management and disposal of various categories of references.

During Special Campaign 5.0, held from 2nd October to 31st October, 2025, a total of 1,23,853 files were weeded out, 49,830 square feet of space was freed, and revenue of Rs. 1.67 crore was generated.

The Department continued its efforts towards Swachhata and efficient utilization of resources beyond the campaign period. From November 2025 to August 2026, an area of 72,577 square feet was freed through weeding out of old files, auctioning of scrap material and cleaning of unutilized and abandoned spaces. Disposal of scrap material generated revenue of Rs. 25.95 lakh during the period.

Further, 1,493 cleanliness drives were conducted across various offices and locations of DoF&PD and its organizations from November 2025 to August 2026. These initiatives have reinforced the Department's commitment towards maintaining a cleaner, more efficient and well-organized work environment.

Special Campaign 6 to Address Pending References, Old Records, Unutilized Space and E-Waste

As part of Special Campaign 6, the Department of Food and Public Distribution has planned a range of activities covering key parameters of the campaign, including liquidation of pending references, better record management, space management, e-waste disposal, cleanliness and beautification of office premises. Through Special Campaign 6, the DFPD will continue its efforts to promote a culture of cleanliness, efficiency and effective management of government resources across its offices and organizations.
