Special Campaign 6 is being carried out by the Department of Land Resources, which is concentrating on making Swachhata a permanent part of its functioning, improving the way records are managed and clearing pending matters faster. Secretary (LR) is guiding the drive and keeping a close watch on its execution, stressing accountability, frequent reviews and results delivered within fixed timelines.
Every week, Secretary (LR) holds meetings with senior officers to take stock of how the Campaign is progressing. The Secretary has personally visited the Department’s offices and its Record Room, and has instructed all Divisional Heads to keep an effective check on cleanliness drives, review records in a systematic manner and weed out files as per the laid-down procedures. Regular review meetings with the Divisions are being held by the Nodal Officer, who is also inspecting office premises to gauge progress and make sure the Campaign is implemented well. Officers and officials have been made aware of what the Campaign aims to achieve, and they are taking an active part in its activities.
Notable headway has been made in reviewing records and settling pending matters. Out of the 12 cleanliness activities identified, 5 are already complete. In addition, 90% of public grievances have been settled when measured against the Campaign target. On the records management front, 945 out of 1,280 physical files and 242 out of 501 e-files have been examined for recording, weeding out or closure, as the case may be. The Department is regularly uploading its progress on the SCDPM Portal of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).

It also observed Swachhata Pakhwada from 1 to 15 October 2026, renewing its pledge to encourage cleanliness, hygiene and lasting behavioural change at the workplace.

The Campaign also has more activities lined up, including one more Yoga Session, a talk on mental health and a painting competition for employees.
To raise awareness and showcase its efforts, the Department is sharing updates on the activities carried out and the progress made under the Campaign on its social media handles, including X, Facebook and Instagram.
