In a significant achievement towards workers’ welfare and harmonious industrial relations, two Memorandums of Settlement (MoS) were signed between the management of UltraTech, Bathinda, and workers’ unions on 14th October 2026, following the effective conciliation efforts of the Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), Jalandhar, under the Office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.

The settlements, concluded with the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), are expected to extend financial benefits amounting to approximately ₹3.36 crore to 217 workers over the next five years.

A key feature of the settlements is the provision for extending the agreed benefits retrospectively from the second quarter of the year, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the respective agreements. The settlements were facilitated through constructive dialogue and the cooperation of the management and workers’ representatives, with the active involvement of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) machinery in Jalandhar. The successful resolution demonstrates the importance of effective conciliation in facilitating mutually acceptable solutions and promoting collective bargaining.

This achievement reflects the continued commitment of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, towards safeguarding workers’ interests, facilitating the amicable resolution of industrial disputes, promoting fair labour practices, and strengthening harmonious industrial relations through constructive dialogue and effective conciliation.
