  • Rural Home Guard:A rural applicant must be permanently resident in the same Deoghar block for which the application is made. Submit a self-attested residence certificate from the competent authority.
  • Urban Home Guard:An urban applicant must be an ordinary resident of Deoghar district's urban area, supported by the prescribed authority's self-attested residence certificate.

Applicants must provide self-attested education certificates establishing the qualification claimed in the form.

For an urban technical vacancy, the applicant must possess relevant technical knowledge and be employed in the field or self-employed. The notice's examples include doctors, engineers, advocates, lecturers, nurses, computer operators, typists, licensed drivers, cooks, carpenters, cobblers, washermen, barbers, electricians, gardeners and plumbers. A certificate of technical proficiency from the competent authority is required.

This enrolment provides voluntary service rather than a regular salaried post: it is not a monthly government job. There is no fixed monthly salary. Duty allowance is paid at government-fixed rates for days actually worked when deployment is required.

  • Applicants in both categories must be 19–40 years old on 01.01.2026. The notice does not state a separate reserved-category relaxation in the upper age limit.

Selection Process

  1. The selection committee follows Jharkhand Home Department Notification No. 5442, dated 20.10.2014, for physical and qualifying tests, merit preparation, verification and training before enrolment.

  2. Open the official Jharkhand recruitment portal through the application link.
  3. Choose the prescribed rural or urban Home Guard form for the category in which you are eligible.
  4. Complete all required personal, education and identity entries. Incomplete particulars are not acceptable.
  5. Attach a recent colour photograph and your signature in the required upload format.
  6. Enter particulars of an accepted identity document: Aadhaar, voter identity card, driving licence or PAN. The notice identifies Aadhaar as the preferred document.
  7. Pay Rs. 100 through the application's online payment gateway.
  8. Submit within the notified period and confirm payment: the application becomes final only after successful fee payment.
