Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) initiated significant steps to conduct various activities as part of Special Campaign 6 to foster cleanliness, reduction in pendency of public grievances, and weeding out of physical and e-files.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions), along with Smt. Nivedita Shukla Verma, Secretary (Pension), and senior officers of DoPPW & DARPG, participated in a plantation drive at CSOI, New Delhi, on 02 October 2026, as part of the “Swachhata Hi Sewa” campaign to promote a sustainable future. DoPPW also conducted Shramdaan activities involving deep cleaning of office premises, including the parking area and pathways at Lok Nayak Bhawan, along with sweeping and garbage collection for beautification.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions) along with Smt. Nivedita Shukla Verma, Secretary (Pension), inspected office premises of DoPPW at Ground Floor, participated in Plantation Drive, inspected the scrap room, inaugurated a new library and a Selfie Point for DLC Campaign 5 developed under the Waste to Wealth initiative using discarded office equipment and furniture on 26 October 2026. The Department coordinated nationwide efforts across 21 identified cleanliness sites to enhance workplace hygiene and public interface.

Out of the 747 physical files identified for review, 56 physical files marked for weeding out have been processed, contributing to space management. Further, 753 e-files were reviewed and 189 files are identified under e-waste compliance and closed in e-office.

As part of the campaign's focus on simplifying procedures for pensioners' ease of living, DoPPW identified and issued 37 OMs under Ease of Rules for ease of living for pensioners. These efforts reinforced DoPPW's commitment to upholding pensioners' rights and improving post-retirement quality of life.

DoPPW achieved substantial progress in resolving public grievances from Central Government pensioners, disposing of over 10198 grievances, representing 109.57% of the 9307 targeted disposals including appeals. Daily monitoring via the SCDPM portal ensured timely redressal, with a dedicated team tracking advancements to meet campaign goals.
