The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals and FICCI have scheduled the 14th India Chem 2026 at Mumbai’s Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO. The event runs from October 22 to 24, 2026.
The biennial programme brings government, industry, investors, researchers and technology providers together. Its purpose is to develop commercial links and explore investment, collaboration and trade in chemicals and petrochemicals.
The 14th edition uses the theme Advantage Bharat: An Emerging Global Chemicals Hub. India Chem 2026 combines an international exhibition with a conference, presenting manufacturing capabilities, new technologies and opportunities to source from India.
Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister J. P. Nadda is scheduled to inaugurate the event. Minister of State Anupriya Patel will also attend.
Chief ministers from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, along with senior Union and State officials, are expected to participate.
Industry growth and investment context
The ministry places India sixth among global chemical producers and fourth in Asia. It cites this industrial position as part of the context for the 14th India Chem 2026.
Its projections put the industry at USD 300 billion by 2030 and USD 1 trillion by 2040. Demand, exports, demographics, low per-person consumption and government initiatives are identified as factors supporting the growth outlook.
The ministry also highlights infrastructure, governance reforms, trade policies, regulation and competitively priced skilled labour as investment strengths. It expects chemicals and petrochemicals to contribute to domestic manufacturing and wider participation in global value chains.
Participation from international and State delegations
India Chem 2026 expects representatives from over 100 countries. These include Japan, North America, the UK, European Union members, Latin America, Vietnam, Korea and ASEAN countries.
Japan is the partner country for the 14th India Chem 2026, providing a focus for closer bilateral economic cooperation.
Organisers expect more than 200 exhibitors, over 8,000 business visitors and upwards of 50 CEOs at the global forum. Buyer delegations are anticipated from the Americas, Europe, CIS countries, the Middle East and South and Southeast Asia.
Gujarat, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra will present chemical hubs, investment regions and industrial opportunities.
Products and processes on display
The exhibition spans chemical and petrochemical products, services, machinery and process-plant equipment.
Chemical displays include specialty and basic products, agrochemicals, fertilisers, dyes, pigments and sustainable alternatives. Pharmaceutical ingredients, water treatment, construction chemicals and industrial research are also within scope.
Petrochemical exhibits cover polymers, plastics, olefins, fibres, elastomers and aromatic derivatives. Recycled and bio-based products, composites and advanced polymers for automotive, aerospace and electronics applications are included.
Plant-technology displays will address engineering, automation, digital production, environmental controls and filtration. Laboratory and analytical equipment, robotics and AI applications for chemical facilities are also part of the planned coverage.
Commercial opportunities at the 14th India Chem 2026
The 14th India Chem 2026 seeks partnerships in technology transfer, joint ventures, contract research, manufacturing and custom synthesis. Chemical parks and investment regions offer another avenue, alongside advanced materials such as composites, semiconductors, nanomaterials and biodegradable polymers.
Other business areas include recycling, bio-based chemicals, clean technologies and circular production. Sustainability, safety, compliance, startup support, workforce skills, logistics and digital trade platforms broaden the programme.
By connecting businesses with government, researchers and technology suppliers, India Chem 2026 aims to encourage innovation and investment across this manufacturing sector.
The earlier India Chem 2024 drew 72 countries, 172 exhibitors, 78 global CEOs and 135 speakers. Reported participation also included 689 overseas delegates, 1,115 Indian delegates and 8,720 business visitors. That 13th edition recorded total footfall above 15000 at the B2B event and hosted 20 State delegations.
The 14th edition builds on that attendance to expand international business engagement and highlight India’s role in the chemical industry.
India Chem 2026 will connect global expertise with domestic manufacturing and investment opportunities, within the event’s focus on sustainable industrial development.
