Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is scheduled to visit Germany from 22 to 24 October 2026, followed by the Netherlands from 24 to 27 October 2026. His programme focuses on trade, investment and closer industrial and technological ties.
In Berlin, Goyal will attend the Berlin Global Dialogue to discuss India’s economic stability, manufacturing strengths and supply-chain role with business leaders and policymakers. Bilateral meetings are planned with Germany’s economic affairs and energy minister and the Federal Chancellery’s economic and financial policy adviser, who also serves as G7/G20 Sherpa. Priorities include advanced engineering, green mobility and clean technologies, alongside market and investment opportunities connected with India–EU free trade negotiations.
The Hague programme includes government-to-government, or G2G, discussions with the Dutch ministers responsible for economic affairs and climate, and foreign trade and development cooperation. Goyal will explore trade channels and green-transition initiatives. Meetings also include North Holland’s King’s Commissioner and Dutch parliamentary committee members dealing with foreign trade and European affairs.
Around 100 businesses and startups are expected to accompany the minister. Their Berlin programme includes roundtables spanning automotive industries, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, IT, AI and services. Other discussions cover agri-food, consumer goods, textiles, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and wellness. An investment roundtable with Germany Trade & Invest will address establishing operations in Germany. Research and innovation meetings will examine industrial change, deep technology, microelectronics, skills and resilient supply chains.
The business delegation will visit Rotterdam’s port on 25 October 2026 to study logistics and supply-chain infrastructure. On 26 October 2026, Goyal and the Dutch foreign-trade minister are due to address the India–Netherlands Business Forum in The Hague. Six sectoral roundtables and B2B networking will follow, covering food and agriculture, innovation, renewable energy, logistics, manufacturing and services, including pharmaceuticals, textiles and engineering goods.
The Commerce Ministry has outlined the visit’s official and parallel business programme.
