After completing her visit from 14- 17 Oct 2026, the Indian Navy’s three-masted sail training ship INS Sudarshini has sailed out of Salalah, Oman, moving ahead with her historic transoceanic deployment, Lokayan-2026. The expedition highlights the Indian Navy’s rich seafaring heritage and its focus on building professional seamanship, resilience and leadership qualities among naval trainees.
Professional exchanges and sporting events held during the port call promoted camaraderie and deepened the friendship between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman, while also strengthening people-to-people links.
With Lokayan-2026 now in its tenth month, the journey of INS Sudarshini stands as an example of the Indian Navy’s exploratory spirit, professional excellence and dedication to maritime diplomacy. Sailing across international waters, the vessel acts as India’s ambassador, promoting goodwill and maritime partnerships, carrying forward the civilisational ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and furthering the vision of MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions).
