Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) a subsidiary of Coal India Limited under the Ministry of Coal, organised a nukkad natak (street play) at its headquarters under Special Campaign 6 to spread awareness about e-waste management, responsible disposal of electronic waste and allied environmental issues.
GM (Civil/Wel-TA & CSR), Heads of Departments, officers and staff attended the programme. Smt. Rekha Pandey, Director (HR), encouraged employees to contribute towards a cleaner work environment and a sustainable future.
The street play highlighted the importance of environmentally responsible practices for the collection, segregation and scientific disposal of electronic waste. Through an interactive presentation, the programme emphasised the need to reduce, reuse and recycle electronic items and ensure that discarded electrical and electronic equipment is channelled through authorised e-waste collection and recycling systems.
The initiative aligns with the theme of Special Campaign 6, being observed from October 2 to October 31, 2026, with a focus on e-waste management. The programme also reinforced the broader objectives of Special Campaign 6, including promoting environmental responsibility, encouraging sustainable workplace practices and strengthening collective participation in cleanliness and waste-management initiatives.
Through such awareness activities, MCL continues to encourage its employees to adopt responsible waste-management practices and contribute towards the vision of a cleaner environment and a greener tomorrow.
