A total of 2863 posts have been advertised, comprising 105 UT Cadre posts, 1990 Divisional Cadre posts (Jammu and Kashmir combined), and 768 District Cadre posts across 20 districts.
It is a recruitment drive by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board, under Advertisement Notification No. 09 of 2026 dated 01.09.2026, to fill 2863 Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts across UT, Divisional, and District cadres in J&K.
The last date to submit the online application form is 03.11.2026, which is also the cut-off date for age, qualification, and category certificates.
For Class-IV (MTS) posts, the minimum qualification is Matriculation and the maximum is 10+2. For Sanitation Worker posts, the minimum qualification is 8th Pass and the maximum is 10+2.
As on 01.01.2026, the maximum age limit is 40 years for Open Merit candidates, 43 years for SC/ST-1/ST-2/RBA/ALC-IB/EWS/OBC candidates, and 42 years for PwBD candidates, with additional relaxations for Ex-Servicemen and casual-worker weightage claimants.
The application fee is ₹600 for General category candidates and ₹500 for SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, and PwBD category candidates, payable only through online mode.

Selection is based on an Objective Type Written Test (with negative marking) combined with additional weightage marks, followed by Document Verification for shortlisted candidates.
