Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh opened the new Hindi library GYANDEEP at Sena Bhawan, New Delhi, on October 22, 2026. The inauguration formed part of the Ministry of Defence's Special Campaign 6, running from October 02 to 31, 2026. The library is intended to increase access to Hindi books and literature, encourage Hindi in official work and strengthen implementation of Rajbhasha through everyday working practices.
Cleaning and disposal of old records have freed approximately 35,000 square feet in South Block, which has been handed over to Project Yuga Yugeen Bharat Museum (YYBM). The campaign has also closed 1,361 e-files and weeded out 1,746 physical files. Disposal of electronic waste and other obsolete items generated ₹4.22 lakh in revenue.
During the programme, Singh honoured eight Swachhta Veers for their special contributions to the ongoing campaign.
Ministry offices are also carrying out regular cleaning, maintenance, e-waste segregation and disposal. The work includes Sena Bhawan, Kartavya Bhawan-II, Vayu Bhawan and offices at KG Marg.
