DST has reported progress in cleanliness and administrative work under Special Campaign 6. Following DARPG guidelines, the exercise involves the department, autonomous institutes, subordinate and field offices, Technology Innovation Hubs, missions and affiliated organisations.
The department initially selected 315 cleanliness sites. At an October 5 review, the Joint Secretary (Administration), also the nodal officer for Special Campaign 6, encouraged participating bodies to clear records and scrap, resolve complaints and improve workplace management.
The site list subsequently expanded from 315 to 401. Cleanliness work had been carried out at 397 of the 401 identified locations, reflecting broader participation across DST organisations.
DST expects the cumulative site count to approach 800 by the campaign’s scheduled conclusion on October 31, 2026. This remains a projection for the remaining period.
Administrative disposal included 99 of 135 public grievances and 9 of 23 grievance appeals. The department also disposed of 7 out of 12 references from Members of Parliament.
Record checks covered 6,280 physical files against 7,000 due for review; 2,598 files were weeded out. Of 1,900 electronic files submitted for review, 1,791 were examined and 949 closed.
Disposal and cleaning activities under Special Campaign 6 recovered 61,888 square feet of space. Scrap disposal brought in ₹8,25,696 in revenue.
DST said it is monitoring outstanding work so identified activities can be completed within the Special Campaign 6 timeline. Continued reviews are intended to keep organisations focused on the remaining targets.
The figures describe progress at the middle stage of the campaign. Participating bodies are continuing their activities and identifying additional locations, with further improvement expected before the exercise ends.
For outreach under Special Campaign 6, DST issued 03 PIB statements and shared 72 posts on X. Facebook and LinkedIn were also used to publicise the work and broaden public awareness.
