Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has stepped up preparations for Special Campaign 6.0, with an ambitious target to clean more than 10 lakh square feet of area across its offices, colonies and other establishments during the campaign period.

The target marks a significant step-up from the previous campaign, during which MCL covered 6.12 lakh square feet of identified areas, reflecting the company’s continued efforts towards creating cleaner, more organised and efficient workplaces.

The campaign is being undertaken in line with the Government of India’s Special Campaign 6.0, scheduled from October 2 to October 31, 2026 focused on institutionalising Swachhata, improving workplace management, optimising available space, reducing pendency and ensuring effective collection, segregation and disposal of waste, including e-waste.

The key focus area of this year’s campaign will be the scientific management of e-waste generated across MCL offices and establishments.

Dedicated efforts will be undertaken for the identification, segregation and systematic disposal of obsolete and discarded electronic items in accordance with applicable guidelines. The initiative is aimed at strengthening responsible waste management practices while simultaneously helping offices create cleaner, safer and more organised workspaces.

The campaign will place especial emphasis on space optimisation, enabling better utilisation of workplace areas by identifying and clearing unwanted, obsolete and redundant materials.

Through Special Campaign 6.0, MCL aims to further strengthen a culture of cleanliness, environmental responsibility and efficient workplace management across its Offices and establishments.
