Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Sammelan at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, at 11 AM on 23 October 2026. He is also scheduled to address participants.
The gathering runs from 23 to 25 October 2026 and is expected to bring together over 9,000 people from India and abroad. It concludes a year of events marking 75 years of Chinmaya Mission. Swami Chinmayananda founded the global spiritual movement in 1951 to make Vedanta and the Bhagavad Gita more widely accessible. Its work has since grown to include spiritual education, cultural preservation, youth development and community service.
The celebrations began last year when the Prime Minister released a Tamil versification of the Bhagavad Gita at Gangaikonda Cholapuram, Tamil Nadu. Chinmaya Mission produced the work with music by Ilaiyaraaja. The year's events included mass havans and consecration of the Maa Soundarya Chinmayi Temple in Tripura. Under Chinmaya Gita Samarpanam, more than 1 lakh people worldwide joined online to chant the 15th chapter together. Gita Panchamrit focused on five selected verses. Meanwhile, 15 young Chinmaya Yuva Kendra members travelled over 40,000 km during the Chinmaya Amrit Yatra to spread the Gita's message.
