Article title card: CDS Extends Greetings on Indian Air Force Day

On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF), General NS Raja Subramani, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) & Secretary, Department of Military Affairs (DMA), extended his greetings and felicitations to all personnel of the IAF, veterans, civilians and their families. Paying tribute to the rich legacy of valour, professionalism and selfless service, he lauded the IAF for its sustained operational excellence and ability to employ air power decisively in an increasingly contested and technology-driven battle space. He said that the theme of this year’s Air Force Day- “Indian Airforce: Infallible, Impervious and Precise”- captured the true essence and ethos of the IAF.

Key developments

The CDS outlined that from the skies of conflict to the skies of humanitarian assistance, the IAF has always demonstrated that air power is not merely about air combat, it is about national power, national resilience and national service. The IAF’s performance in various operations is testament to India’s strategic prowess and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and security. He equally commended IAF’s dependable role as first responder during Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief (HADR) operations, both within the country and overseas, earning the trust and gratitude of all.

Acknowledging the IAF’s steady progress towards Jointness, Aatmanirbharta and Innovation (JAI), he appreciated the induction of indigenous platforms, advanced weapon systems and emerging technologies, along with the continuous evolution of operational concepts and doctrines. He also appreciated IAF’s participation in bilateral and multinational exercises, including the ongoing Exercise Tarang Shakti that has helped strengthening interoperability, operational preparedness and strategic partnerships.

In his message to all air warriors, the CDS exhorted them to remain steadfast in their commitment, remain unwavering in the face of adversity and remain purposeful in every mission.
